Welcome to my blog!
Hi, I'm Nora :)
I am currently an Informatics Researcher at the German Aerospace Center (DLR e.V.)
I enjoy building tools to make life easier and hopefully make a lasting positive change to more than just myself
and
my immediate connections.
Programming has been my hobby since middle school, when I taught myself Java.
Since then, I have always found joy in solving programming puzzles and learned new programming languages and
frameworks in my free time.
I am absolutely in love with embedded programming, as it is very close to the real world.
Working directly with hardware has something fascinating and real to it. Working with FPGAs even more so.
I am currently working with embedded Rust,
since it truly feels like the accompanying tools want to be as helpful as possible
(a feeling, which I don't get from any C or C++ tools)
I also write C and some C++, know Java by heart,
and can throw together some HTML, JS, React, CSS, Python- and Shell-scripts, if the need arises.
I run several Linux servers and have stopped using Windows outside of gaming for over eight years now.
Next to programming, I also enjoy traveling, photography, and bouldering.
All photos on this blog are my own unless explicitly credited otherwise.
This is (going to be) a place for documenting and collecting my notes about my current projects.

While this website is still under construction, take a look at a cool mushroom I took a photo of near my university!
